| currently in mumbai or bombay - nice hotel. Flight was long but uneventful. On my globe at home, flying over north africa really was the shortest route - but you can see we didn't come close, maybe to stay as close to emergency landing places as we could. We did fly over afghanistan, and it was daylight, but I couldn't see much because of the crappy 'window' seat, the altitude, and some clouds. |

More flying penguins! It is a little unnerving to see a bunch of devices error out in the boot sequence - engines not among them. |

| en route to bombay - writing now from the ground in newark - next leg is direct. I got a 'window' seat, but the window is mostly behind me and over a wing, which sucks, because I think we'll be flying over africa during daylight hours. So far, the airplane cuisine has been this cheese pizza - once again remembered to let it cool down some before eating a portion of it. I doubt there'll be any of those delicious cheeseburgers on the next leg, either - rats. |

| Walked around a little in central London, and found some music shops - same stuff as in the US, but much more expensive. Then went back again to the British Museum. This place just never gets old. The gift shop is nice to, except that it sucks to be an american right now when you want to buy something |
